       Last year I did the David's Tea advent calendar and found myself some lovely new blends from a company I wasn't very familiar with.  I'd had some of their teas before and really enjoyed them, but only a few and so I loved trying blends I never would have purchased for myself.      I had so much fun with the experience last year that I decided to do it again this year and choose a different tea company to explore.  I settled on Adagio Teas because their calendar looked so cute in the add. The inside of the Adagio Teas advent calendar     Last year's David's Tea calendar design was a bunch of little drawers that pulled out to reveal pouches of loose leaf tea portioned for two.  I like this punch/perforation pocket design better.  The little drawers slipped out before their time a lot and revealed blends before their days.  This also feels a lot more like the little chocolate advent calendars that I had as a kid....

Hot Chocolate is a pu'erh tea blend that was featured in the 2019 tea advent calendar put out by DAVIDs Tea. Yes, those are MASSIVE chocolate chunks in with the tea leaves. Another pu’er tea- so penicillin allergy folk should skip it. Disclaimer: I do not like chocolate Another stevia sweetened tea- so yup, that nasty aftertaste is there in spades again. SO DARK!! No, that's not coffee or hot chocolate.... that's this tea in a cup with nothing added. The chocolate is soooo strong in this blend. That being said, the tea is well named. I added a bit of milk and suddenly I felt that I was drinking a sugar free hot chocolate instead of a tea. Verdict: if I wanted hot chocolate, I’d make hot chocolate and avoid the nasty stevia bs.

S'mores Chai is a pu'erh tea blend that was featured in the 2019 DAVIDs Tea advent calendar. Alright - first off - a serious disclaimer for those of you new to pu'erh teas.  Pu'erh tea is made with a fermentation process that can often allow the penicillin mold to grow on and then be incorporated into the tea leaves.  THEREFORE, if you have a penicillin allergy - STAY AWAY from pu'erh tea blends for your own safety. Yes, those are chips of chocolate in with the leaves.... This smells like s’mores... which is slightly disconcerting. The taste was too much chocolate and not enough tea for me.  (full disclaimer, I am one of those rare freaks of nature who do not actually like chocolate so....) Verdict:  Nope.  Blech.
