Tea Review: British Breakfast by The Republic of Tea

I was gifted with a beautiful hand curated collection of teas from The Republic of Tea a while back from a friend as a thank you.  It's a wonderful idea that The Republic of Tea has - and my friend even said that SHE was allowed to personally curate the selection of teas that was sent in the variety box - so, in case you're looking for a fun gift to give the tea lover in your family - think about checking that out.

At any rate, this is the third blend from that box that I'm getting around to reviewing.

I'm not usually a big fan of English Breakfast blends - something I know that I've mentioned before.  I tend to prefer Scottish Breakfast or Irish Breakfast blends more since the tea is stronger in those blends and more of what I want early in the morning to get me going.  Hence, I admit that I didn't go into the first taste of this blend with very high hopes.

When I tasted my first sip, I was pleasantly surprised!  This is a nice strong black brew.  The write up for this blend calls it "A savory mixture of Indian, Sri Lankan and Kenyan leaves" and savory is a really good adjective to describe this blend.  I made myself a full pot of this and it got me through my work day in all the best ways.  I had a little creamer near me and was able to add more or less cream to each cup as the whim took me through the day.

Verdict: If I'm buying a variation of English Breakfast - I'm buying this one.
